CINCINNATI, Ohio -- Rhode Island dropped a 3-0 decision at Xavier on Sunday afternoon.

The Rams (1-10-1; 1-3 A-10) attempted 19 shots in the match, with eight of them coming on-goal. Kaylen Shimoda and Stephanie Santos each attempted four shots, while Adrienne Ruhe Lischke put two shots on-goal.

Sasha Reiber played 43:24 in the first half for URI, allowing two goals - in the 22nd and 40th minutes. Brooke Messier entered the contest for her first action of the season and played the final 46:36 of the game. She allowed a goal in the 59th minute and made two saves.

Rhody outshot the Musketeers (6-7; 2-2 A-10), 19-10, including an 8-6 edge in shots on-goal. The Rams attempted eight corner kicks to just four for XU, and committed 11 fouls.

Rhode Island returns to action on Wednesday, Oct. 13 when they face Brown at 4:30 p.m. in Providence.
