Rhody Heads to Bryant on Wednesday Night

KINGSTON, R.I. - Rhody travels to Bryant for a Wednesday night tilt with the Bulldogs - the fourth of seven consecutive road games for the Rams. Tip-off at Chace Athletics Center is set for 7:00 p.m.

Rhode Island is 1-0 in the all-time series vs. Bryant, winning the lone matchup between the teams (64-57) on Nov. 28, 2008.

Wednesday's game will be head coach Cathy Inglese's first meeting with the Bulldogs.

SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS
Bryant enters the contest looking to bounce back from a 68-42 loss to Boston College on Sunday afternoon. Prior to that, the Bulldogs had won three of their first four games (vs. Colgate, Maine and Brown). Bryant is led by a pair of players averaging double figures: Naana Ankoma-Mensa (11.8 ppg/7.8 rpg) and Katie Whittington (11.0 ppg). Whittington also leads the Bulldogs with 16 while Brittany Stahura has 15, as well as a team-best 14 steals and five blocks. Collectively, Bryant is shooting 35.1% (108-308) from the field and is on the plus side of a 5.4 rebounding advantage with an average of 40.6 boards per game.

  • The Rams shot a season-low 27.8% from the field, connecting on just 15-of-54 attempts. Meanwhile, BU connected at a 40.3% clip (25-62).
  • The Terriers held a 44-37 rebounding advantage and recorded 12 steals to URI's nine.
  • BU also forced Rhode Island into 17 turnovers while committing just nine of their own.
  • Emilie Cloutier and Ajanae Boone led the Rams with 12 points apiece.
  • Boone's 12 points were all from long range, matching her career-best with four 3-pointers.
  • Rhode Island's first three makes in the game came from beyond the arc. Similarly, the Terriers went on to open the second frame with back-to-back-to-back three pointers.
  • Both teams were perfect from the free throw line in the first half as Rhody made all four of its attempts and BU was 7-for-7.
  • BU outscored URI, 12-2, over the first eight and a half minutes of the second half.
  • There were four lead changes in the game.
