First and Second Round Results

Setting the Scene:

Course: Lonnie Poole Golf Course – Raleigh, N.C. (par 72/7,358 yards)

The field: 12 teams, 71 total golfers

Weather: high 60's, sunny

Rhode Island's Individual Results:

* Nick Fairweather is tied for 21st place after Friday's first two rounds of play.  He shot a 2-over 74 during the morning round before carding his best collegiate single round of 73 during the afternoon competition.

* Branden Chicorka shot a pair of 75's during the first 36 holes of play on Friday.  He is currently tied for 32nd place.

* Jared Adams is tied for 64th place after day one.  Adams opened with a 79 during the first round of play, and shot a 77 during the second round of play.

* Jeffrey Ray is tied for 67th place, registering scores of 80 and 79 during Friday's opening day of competition.

* Andrew Fiorenzano withdrew from play due to injury.  

* Western Carolina's J.T. Poston and Maryland's Andrew McCain are tied atop the leaderboard, each with a 2-under total score of 142.

Rhode Island Team Results:

* The Rams sit in 12th place, with a two-round score of 612 (308-304).  North Carolina leads the team race, followed by East Carolina, host NC State, and Western Carolina.

What's Next:

Rhode Island closes out play with the third and final round of the Wolfpack Intercollegiate.  It is the final tournament of the 2012 fall season for the Rams.
