Sellitti Tallies First Goal of Season in 3-1 Loss at Massachusetts

How it Happened:

All the scoring came in the first half, as UMass got on the board just 31 seconds into the game.  

Rhody's Dariann Sellitti tallied the equalizer in the 18th minute, off a corner kick.  Jennifer Barrientos pinpointed her entry and Sellitti put it in on the right post.

The goal was Sellitti's first of the year, while the assist was Barrientos' fourth of the season.

UMass tallied two more goals - in the 26th and 32nd minutes of play.

Inside the Box Score:

  • Rhode Island and Massachusetts were even on the shot count, with each team attempting 11.  UMass put six shots on goal to Rhody's three.
  • Chelsea Broghamer earned the start in goal for Rhode Island - her fifth start of the season.
  • Barrientos and Sellitti led the Rams with two shots apiece.
  • Madison VanDine played all 90 minutes of the match.
  • The Rams fell to 0-2-1 on the road this season.
