How It Happened:
Rhode Island netted a pair of unassisted goals – one by Brett Uttley and another by Mike Casey – within the opening 16 minutes to take a quick 2-0 lead over the Wildcats.
Nine minutes into the second frame, UNH cut the lead in half before evening it up at two apiece in the 75th minute. New Hampshire then netted the go-ahead goal to move in front 3-2 at the 83:35 mark but Casey found the back of the net again - this time with just six ticks left on the clock - to knot the score at 3-3 and force overtime.
There, Oscar Soons set Matt Ribbens up with a breakaway feed heading towards goal. Ribbens' first attempt was blocked by UNH goalkeeper Travis Worra, but Worra was unable to control the ball and Ribbens deposited the rebound into the back of the net for the game-winning goal.
