How it Happened:

A putback in the box by Xavier's Catherine Allon in the 20th minute proved to be the lone goal in the match, as the Musketeers won, 1-0, over Rhode Island in the Atlantic 10 opener for both teams.

Inside the Box Score:

* Rhode Island had plenty of offensive chances on the night, outshooting Xavier, 15-3.  

* Two Rhody shots hit the post, first on a Jennifer Barrientos corner kick in the 33rd minute.  Ashley Evangelista's best scoring try of the night also resulted in a shot caromed off the left post in the 79th minute.

* Barrientos led the Rams with four shots - two of which were on-goal.  Maggie MacDonald's two shots were also on-goal.

* As a result of URI's offensive attacks, the Rams attempted six corner kicks to just two for the Musketeers.

Additional Notes:

* Tonight marked just the second time in 12 games that Rhode Island was shutout.

* The loss puts the all-time series between the two schools at 6-6-3.

* The Rams are 7-3-0 this season when playing at home.
