How It Happened:

Samantha Leyh continued her strong play this season scoring her team high third and fourth goals today in the 4th and 40th minutes respectively. The first Leyh goal was assisted by Lucy Gildein and the second Leyh goal was unassisted. 

Gildein was also able to get on the board today adding Rhody's third goal of the day in the 85th minute. Leyh added her game high fifth point on this goal by passing a nice ball to Gidein for the goal.

Manhattan was able to get on the board early in the 8th minute of the game, however they failed to score another for the rest of the game.

Inside the Box Score:

• With the win, Rhode Island improves to 3-3-0, while Manhattan drops to 2-4-0 overall.
• Rhode Island held a staggering 28-10 advantage in total shots, including a 12-7 edge in shots on goal. 
• Rhody also convincingly out-cornered the Rams, 10-1.
• The Rams committed 10 fouls compared to none for Manhattan.
• Katie Nickles picked up the win in goal for the Rams, making six saves.
• Leyh led all players with ten shots on the afternoon, including five shots on goal.
• There were no yellow or red cards for the entire game.

Additional Notes:

• Rhode Island is now 4-0-0 all time against Manhattan and 3-0-0 under head coach Michael Needham.
• The win improved URI's record to 2-2-0 at home this season. 
• Samantha Leyh's five point performance is the best single game point total for the Rams so far this season.
• Leyh now has ten points on the season off four goals and two assists.
• Katie Nickles became the first Ram goalie to start, play the entire game and come away with the win. Her record now stands at 1-1-0.
• Gildein's three points today bring her season total to seven off two goals and three assists.
• The Rams improve their Sunday record to an undefeated 3-0-0.
