How It Happened
First Half
Despite three first half saves by Reilly Lindsey, it was VCU that had the lead after the first 45 minutes of play. Sharon Wojcik's early goal (6:24) came on a rebound off a shot by Maren Johansen that was turned away by Lindsey. The Rams took four shots in the half, but were unable to beat Emma Kruse, who earned her fifth clean sheet of the season.
Second Half
Alex Gogolin doubled the VCU lead when she beat Lindsey on a corner kick in the 55th minute of play. 20 minutes later, Johansen added another insurance marker for the home side when she chipped a shot over Lindsey and made the lead 3-0.
