How It Happened

First Half
Despite a lack of real shot attempts in the early going, the Rams dictated most of the play in the first half and created multiple chances as a result. Just under 16 minutes in, on Rhody's fourth corner kick of the evening, leading scorer Nicole Brennan connected with Simone Hansen, and the freshman headed one past keeper Cassidy Babin for the game's first goal. 

Second Half
The Rams controlled the play in a physical second half and were able to fend off a desperate UMass attack in the final 20 minutes. Katie Nickles had four saves in the half to earn the fifth team shutout of the season for the Rams. 

Additional Notes

• Katie Nickles earned her third clean sheet of the season and lowered her A-10 best goals against average to 0.70 in 773:13 minutes.
• Nicole Brennan's assist was her 15th point of the season. She leads the Rams in all three major scoring categories with five goals and five assists.
• This season is just the second time since 2007 that the Rams have won 10 wins.
• At 2-1-1, the Rams are tied for third place in the Atlantic 10.
