How It Happened
First Half
Sticking to a common theme of the season, the Rams scored early in the first half to take control of the opening frame. Sam Leyh had a shot deflected back to the top of the 18 and Dariann Sellitti blasted the rebound past Christina Sarokon for her first goal of the season. The Bonnies were not thrown off by the Rams' early strike, as they answered ten minutes later when Danielle Vis connected for her fourth goal of the season.
Second Half
Despite each team attempting six shots in the final half, the Bonnies put 5 shots on goal compared to none for the Rams in the frame. It was Lauren Hill's strike in the 62nd minute that put the Bonnies ahead for good. Hill received a cross from Abby Maiello and beat Reilly Lindsey on the far side for her fourth goal of the year.
Additional Notes
- Six seniors were honored before the game for the Rams as they played their final game in Kingston. Sam Rice, Nicole Genzardi, Chelsea Gates, Reilly Lindsey, Dariann Sellitti, and Sam Leyh will all graduate in May after wrapping up their careers with Rhode Island.
- Sellitti scored her first goal of the season in the first half, becoming the ninth Ram to score a goal this season.
- Sam Leyh stands alone in 18th on the all-time Rhode Island points list with 36 points after her first half assist.
- The team sits in fourth place in the Atlantic 10 with 10 points in conference play through six games.
