How It Happened

Regulation

Both teams had equal chances throughout both halves of regulation, but goalkeepers Katie Nickles and Allison Ebling were able to stand tall and keep both sides locked in a stalemate. Sam Leyh nearly broke through in the final 30 seconds as she stretched to reach an Ari Stanton cross that eventually sailed just past her head.

Overtime

Just four minutes into the first overtime, Leyh and Stanton attemped an identical cross towards the center of the Saint Joseph's box and this time, Leyh connected on the header and buried the golden goal past Ebling.
