2nd Half - MASON - Sydney Mitchell (Agiato) - 79:08 (1st of season)
How It Happened
First Half
Nicole Brennan opened the scoring for the Rams with an early strike from 20+ yards out. Ari Stanton sent a cross through the box where Katrin Gylfadottir settled it and set up Brennan who sent one past George Mason keeper Laura Glew. Brennan led the Rams with three shots on goal for the afternoon.
Second Half
After trailing for 75 minutes, George Mason broke through with an equalizer off the foot of Sydney Mitchell. Liz Agiato took a deep corner and hit Mitchell just past the far post, but Mitchell's initial shot went long. Agiato possesed the ball on the end line and again, sent a ball across to Mitchell, who buried the second attempt and evened the score.
Extra Time
The best chance for either team in extra time came when Samantha Leyh won a ball just outside the 18-yd box, turned, and fired one on goal. Leyh's attempt struck the crossbar and Amanda Nardella just missed the redirect off the rebound before George Mason was able to clear the ball.
