How It Happened:

The game was scoreless for the first 50 minutes of play. Adelaide Cummings would score the only goal of the game in the 51st minute when she tapped in a cross from teammate Maggie Boyd past Rhody goalkeeper Katie Nickles.

Rhode Island had a couple chances late in regulation to tie it up, with its best chance coming on a Amanda Nardella header off a corner kick from Katrin Gylfadottir. Nardella's header hit the bar of goal and deflected out of bounds.
