How it happened:
The game was scoreless through the first 28 minutes of action until Emily Wakeford got the scoring onslaught going when she fired a shot just out of the reach of River Hawks keeper Julia Schneider to the right corner. UMass Lowell responded with two goals over the next 2:40, taking a 2-1 lead. It did not take the Rams long to respond, as Wakeford notched her second goal of the night to tie it up at 2-2. UMass Lowell took a 3-2 lead in the 37th minute on a penalty kick, after URI goalkeeper Katie Nickles was assessed a yellow card.
The second half remained scoreless until the 78th minute, before Alex Stanton scored the equalizer, tying the game at 3-3. Just 29 seconds later, Katrin Gylfadottir tallied the game winner for the Rams.
