Rhode Island Welcomes St. Bonaventure Thursday, Massachusetts Sunday

Rhode Island continues Atlantic 10 conference play this week with a pair of home matches - hosting St. Bonaventure on Thursday at 7 p.m. and Massachusetts at 1 p.m. on Sunday at the URI Soccer Complex.

Rhody Quick Facts

  • The last time out, Rhody fell to Richmond, 2-1, on Sunday, Oct. 9. Junior Rachael Lieberman scored the Rams' lone goal – the first of her career.
  • This past Thursday, sophomore Madison Waldron scored her first goal of the season and Donika Murray added another score in the second half in a 3-2 loss against Saint Joseph's.
  • Waldron leads the Rams with 13 shots on goal.
  • Sophomore Emily Wakeford and freshman Allyson Reynolds lead the team with 23 shots.
  • URI has recorded 13 goals in 13 games this season.
  • Goalkeeper Katie Nickles holds a 1.25 goals allowed average and three shutouts. Nickles is ranked fourth in the A-10 with 56 saves.

St. Bonaventure Quick Facts

  • SBU enters Thursday's match with a 3-9-1 overall record and are 0-4 in A-10 play.  The Bonnies are 0-6 on the road in 2016.
  • Last time out on Oct. 9, Saint Bonaventure fell to Fordham in overtime, 1-0.
  • Junior Danielle Vis leads the Bonnies with four goals. She has recorded 38 shots, 19 of which have been on goal.
  • Freshman goalkeeper Lauren Malcolm is ranked first in the A-10 with 5.46 average saves per game. She holds 71 saves.

Series Notes

  • St. Bonaventure leads the all-time series, 10-9-1.
  • The last Rhody win over SBU came Sept. 28, 2007, in a 4-1 victory at St. Bonaventure.

  • Massachusetts is coming off a 2-0 loss to George Washington on Oct. 9.
