Rhody Hosts UMass Lowell Friday, Travels to Northeastern Sunday

Rhode Island kicks off the 2016 regular season hosting UMass Lowell on Friday night at 7 p.m. The Rams will then head on the road for their first away game of the season, traveling to Northeastern Sunday evening for a 6 p.m. start.

  • The Rams open this season coming off a 3-15-1 record from 2015.
  • Rhody returns two of its top three scorers in Taylor Ross and Emily Wakeford.
  • Head coach Michael Needham named junior defender Amanda Nardella and senior goalkeeper Katie Nickles as team captains for the 2016 season.
  • Rhody will play nine home games at the URI Soccer Complex in 2016.

  • Friday will mark the second time meeting between these schools.
