How it Happened
For the third time in four matches, Rhode Island went to overtime, but the Rams fell 2-1 at Albany Thursday night.
The Great Danes (2-3) came out firing in overtime, earning a corner kick two minutes into the period. Albany's Mariah Williams kneed the game-winner into the net off a deflection from the corner kick.
After falling behind 1-0 late in the first half, Rhode Island (0-2-2) tied things up in the 56th minute when freshman forward Allyson Reynolds scored off an assist from Jaileen Goncalves. Reynolds nearly added a second goal with five minutes left in regulation, but Albany keeper Alana Olivieri came up with the save to help send the game into overtime.
