Rams Close Out Non-Conference Play at Wagner Friday Night

Women's soccer heads to Staten Island for the first time in program history.

  • The Rams travel to Wagner coming off a 2-0 win against Maine on Sept. 11 in their last match. 
  • The win over the Black Bears marked the second shut out of the season. 
  • Rhode Island was schedule to face Creighton on Thursday, Sept. 15, but a campus-wide power outage midway through the first half eventually resulted in a cancellation of play.
  • Junior Taylor Ross and senior Nicole Brennan lead the squad with two goals apiece this season.

  • The Seahawks are 1-7 overall entering Friday night's match, including a 1-3 mark at home.
  • Wagner is coming off a 3-0 loss to Stony Brook on Sunday, Sept 18.
  • Senior Megan Fritz leads the team with three goals, one of which came on the Seahawks' 5-0 victory against Saint Peter's on Aug. 25. 

Series Notes

  • Friday will mark the second time URI has faced Wagner in women's soccer.
  • Rhody captured the lone previous meeting, 3-2, on Sept. 19, 2014 in Kingston.
