How It Happened
The Rams recorded their second straight win with a 2-0 victory against Wagner on Friday night in Staten Island. Rhode Island and Wagner went scoreless in the first half, but the Rams offense erupted in the second half with Emily Wakeford scoring in the 53rd minute off an assist from Rachael Lieberman. Taylor Ross scored Rhode Island's second goal of the night off a header in the 69th minute - her third goal in last two games. Ross' goal was set up off a corner kick by Donika Murray and was assisted by junior co-captain Amanda Nardella. Goalkeeper Katie Nickles posted a clean sheet for her third shut out of the 2016 season.
