How it Happened
Rhode Island (3-10-0, 0-5-0 A-10) dropped its fifth straight game Thursday afternoon, falling to Massachusetts 4-1.
Massachusetts (6-5-2, 3-1-1 A-10) got on the board first with a goal by Gabriela Kenyon off an assist from Jenny Thomas. The Minutewomen struck again less than a minute later with a goal by Kelly Marra, assisted by Jenny Hipp, putting them up a quick 2-0 in the first half.
After the break, Massachusett's Jenny Thomas found the back of the net off of a corner kick. Sarah Beaulieu was credited with the assist.
The Rams finally got on the board with a header by Emily Wakeford in the 58th minute. However an insurance goal by Massachusett's Natalie Perussault - assisted by Marra - put the game away for the Minutewomen.
