How It Happened
Rhode Island (3-6-0) battled in its second overtime match of the season but came up short, dropping a 2-1 decision at Fordham Thursday night. The Rams of Fordham (4-3-3) got on the board first, with a chip shot by Morgan Busacca about 10 yards from the goal, with assists coming from Clara Gastaldi and Crea Baker-Durante.
Rhody answered after the break, on a header by sophomore Kelly Mayo. Senior Taylor Ross was credited with the assist.
The battle of the Rams continued into two overtime periods, with the score remaining 1-1 until a rebound by Brooke Salmon off a penalty kick found the back of the net ending the match 2-1 in 104th minute.

- Sophomore Kelly Mayo recorded her first career goal in the match.
- Freshman Julia Freeman started in goal for the Rams, and Redshirt-sophomore Haley Brennan finished the game. Freeman made one save while Brennan recorded two.
- As a team, Rhode Island outshot Fordham 11-10, however the Rams of the Bronx held a 5-4 edge in attempts on the frame.
- Fordham also held an advantage in corner kicks, 5-1.
