How it Happened
A career-high 35 points and program record 17-made field goals by sophomore Nicole Jorgensen wasn't enough to lift Rhode Island (3-21, 1-10 A-10) over Fordham Sunday afternoon.

Fordham (18-6, 9-2 A-10) jumped ahead quick, gaining a 10-0 lead at 8:01. But back-to-back baskets by Jorgensen got the Rams on the board 10-4. However 13 points by Fordham's G'mrice Davis helped push the Rams of the Bronx as they entered the second period up 31-13.

Jorgensen brought life to Rhody in the second quarter, as she scored eight consecutive points to try to chip away the lead. Rhode Island entered the break down 47-31.

Rhode Island continued to try and climb back in the third and fourth, cutting the deficit to 10 points after a Marta Vargas jumper with 1:48 remaining (72-62) - but that was as close as Rhody could get, as they took the eventual 76-64 loss.

• Nicole Jorgensen poured in a career-high 35 points. The last Ram to score 35 in a game was Megan Shoniker against Saint Louis on Feb. 13, 2011. Jorgensen also went 17-of-22 from the field - a program-record that was previously held by Charise Wilson (15). The sophomore added seven rebounds, two steals, one assist, and one block.
• Redshirt sophomore Elemy Colome had 10 points, two steals, and two assists in 20 minutes off the bench.
• Redshirt freshman Meghan Oberg had a career-high six assists. She added five points, four rebounds, and one block.
• Rhode Island's bench outscored Fordham 19-4.
• Fordham had the advantage in rebounds (33-26), steals (10-6), points off turnovers (12-9) and second chance points (11-7).
• The Rams of Kingston had a 42-30 points in the paint advantage.
