How it Happened
Rhode Island picked up its first win over Brown in 15 years, defeating the Bears 1-0 Tuesday night in Providence. The Rams have now won four in a row and are 8-1-1 over their last 10 games.
After a scoreless first half where shots were even at six apiece, URI got on the board at the 71:00 mark when Simon Trcka found the back of the next just seven minutes after subbing into the game. Rohun Kawale was credited with an assist on the goal.
The Rams' defense limited Brown to just three shots the rest of the way - two of which were off target and the other of which was stopped by goalkeeper Stefan Schmidt.

- Redshirt junior Stefan Schmidt recorded five saves en route to his third shutout victory of the season.
- The Rams held a slight advantage in both shots (13-10) and corner kicks (6-4).
- Rhode Island was whistled for 15 fouls, compared to Brown's 10. However, all three yellow cards in the match were issued to the Bears.
- The win was Rhody's first over Brown since defeating the Bears 2-1 on Nov. 7, 2004. In the nine games since then, URI was 0-7-2 and had been outscored 16-5.
