How it Happened
Rhode Island opened the Atlantic 10 season with a 4-1 loss at the URI Soccer Complex Sunday afternoon.

The Billikins struck first off a shot by Evie Lavelle from a cross by Alyssa Seitzer that put SLU up 1-0. Saint Louis carried the lead into the break.

Saint Louis padded its lead just two minutes into the second half of play with a shot by Hannah Friedrich. Two more goals came within three minutes of each other - the first being a shot by Evie Lavelle off a corner kick and then a strike from Brionna Halverson - to give the Billikins a 4-0 advantage.

Both teams changed goalies with 24 minutes remaining. Rhody was able to get on the board with a shot by freshman Brooke Cavino, but it wasn't enough as the Rams dropped their first A-10 contest.
