Reiss Announces Rinat as Addition to Signing Class

KINGSTON, R.I. - Tammi Reiss announced the addition of Emmi Rinat to the 2021 signing class. Rinat joins Giana Hernandez-Boulden and Sophie Phillips who signed last week as part of the national signing period. "Emmi is a very big, strong guard that can play the 1-4 for us offensively and defensively," Reiss said. "She is an extremely skilled and aggressive offensive player that can score on all three levels."

A native of Israel, Rinat played club basketball with Elitzur Holon. Rinat was a member of her home country's national team for four straight years- in 2017 (U14), 2018 (U16), 2019 (U16), and 2020 (Senior). She finished second in the U16 FIBA European Championship Division B in points per game, field goals, and 3-point field goals last year. "Her ability to shoot the 3 really excites me," Reiss added. "What I love about Emmi is her motor and competitive nature; She possesses the complete package as a scorer and playmaker."

Most recently Rinat was training in Israel with the senior National Team. "She has just been invited to the Israeli National Team tryouts, so she is playing at a very high level of competition now," added Reiss. "Emmi loves basketball and wants to become a pro; her work ethic to reach her goals is unrivaled."

Rinat joins the abundance of international experience that now resides in Kingston. The 6'0 guard made the FIBA European Championship Division B All-Star Five a year ago. "Emmi will be battle tested the day she steps on campus," finished Reiss. "We welcome the Rinat family to Rhody Nation!"
