How it Happened
A frustrating night on offense led to Rhode Island's fourth straight loss, as the Rams fell to Maine, 61-47, Friday night.

The Rams (0-4) had a season-low 44 points. URI also had trouble with Maine's ball movement and perimeter shooting. The visiting Black Bears had 14 assists on their 22 field goals, several of which came from beyond the arc.

Maine started the game hot from 3-point range, hitting 4-of-5 from the arc in the first quarter. This allowed the Black Bears to hold a five-point lead at the end of the first quarter, despite Rhode Island shooting 5-of-11 in the first 10 minutes.

Rhody could not get going in the second period, missing its first five shots before a Brazil Harvey-Carr snapped the skid. The Rams managed to score the final four points of the half on shots from Emmanuelle Tahane and Lya Farcy to go into the break down, 30-22.

Maine scored the first seven points of the second half to open a 15-point lead. Rhode Island had a couple spurts in the second half to get the deficit down to 11, but that was as close as the Rams got.
