How it Happened
Rhode Island fell in a 1-0 double overtime battle on the road at St. Bonaventure Thursday night.Â
Rhody had four shots in the first half, including one on the frame by Brooke Cavino in the opening two minutes of play. The teams went into the break scoreless 0-0.
A last-attempt shot by SBU's Kenzie Tarmino was stopped in the 88th minute by Faith Hutchins, sending the teams into overtime.Â
Neither team had a shot in the first overtime period, forcing the double overtime. Kelly Fitzgerald had a shot that was saved by Chiara Gottinger, but a blast by Cristina Torres from McKenna Robinson found the back of the net for the win.Â
