Set One – St. John's 28, Rhode Island 26
Rhode Island and St. John's battled back and forth in the opening set with neither team leading by more than two points until a kill by Brynne Wright made it 16-13 Rams. Another kill by Wright later gave URI its largest lead of the set at 19-15. Rhody remained on top, and had set point on a Claire Wagner kill that made the score 24-20, but St. John's stormed back with a 4-0 run that tied things up at 24 apiece. Rhode Island had set point twice more – at 25-24 and 26-25 – but the Red Storm got three straight kills from Rachele Rastelli to close out the 28-26 victory.

Set Two – St. John's 25, Rhode Island 17
St. John's never trailed in the second set. The Rams tied things at 8-8 and 11-11 – both times on Red Storm errors – but weren't able to pull ahead. After the score was tied at 11, St. John's used am 8-2 run to distance itself for good.

Set Three – St. John's 25, Rhode Island 18
Rhode Island regrouped before the third set and took charge early on, building a 4-2 advantage. The Rams increased the lead to 10-6, but St. John's called a timeout and then reeled off four consecutive points to tie the score at 10-10. Rhody grabbed three of the next four points to pull ahead 13-11, but the Red Storm responded once again, this time using a 5-1 push to reclaim the lead for good at 16-14. The Rams managed just four more points the rest of the way.
