Rhode Island was handed a 2-0 loss Sunday at Dayton, ending its chances for the second straight season making the A-10 playoffs.

The host Flyers struck first in the 11th minute. Itala Gemelli set up a goal by Noel Blain for the quick advantage. Rhode Island went into the break down 1-0. 

Rhody goalkeeper Faith Hutchins made five saves in the second half until Alicia Donley was able to blast one past her to find the back of the net. With just under three minutes left to play on the clock, Rhode Island had two shots but was unable to strike back.
