Set One – Dayton 25, Rhode Island 19
Rhode Island jumped out to a 2-0 lead but Dayton responded with a 9-1 push to take over the lead for good. The Rams slowly clawed their way back, and cut the deficit to one (19-18) on a solo block my Mariah Paulette. That was as close as it would get however, as Dayton used four kills and a pair of aces as part of a 6-1 run that ended the set in favor of the Flyers.

Set Two – Dayton 25, Rhode Island 20
Through the first 14 points of the set, a service ace by Gabrielle Shilling was the only point – for either team – that was not scored on an error. With the score tied at 7-7, Dayton reeled off four straight points, but Rhody responded with four of its own to even it back up at 11-11. Things remained relatively close from that point on, until Dayton used a 6-0 run to extend its lead to 24-17. URI fought off three straight set points, but a kill by Amelia Moore eventually allowed the Flyers to finish on top 25-20.

Set Three – Dayton 25, Rhode Island 12
Dayton was dominant in the final set, recording an impressive .812 hitting percentage. The Flyers has 13 kills on 16 swings with zero attack errors. UD also converted 91 percent (11-of-12) of its sideout opportunities, which prevented the Rams from establishing any sort of rhythm.
