How it Happened
A quick strike gave Rhode Island an early boost, but the Rams settled for a 1-1 draw with VCU Sunday afternoon in Atlantic 10 action.

Rhode Island struck immediately, scoring just 65 seconds into the match when Tali O'Leary knocked home a corner kick. Cristina Sallent sent in the corner, and O'Leary was able to touch it into the lower left corner for the 1-0 lead.

The score remained the same through the first half. VCU got an equalizer in the 49th minute. Kanna Matsuhisa fired a shot on net that Faith Hutchins was able to get in front of, but the rebound went to Kendyl Sarver, who buried the putback to pull the visitors even.

That was it for the scoring, despite VCU outshooting URI 13-4 in the second half.
