Set One – Wisconsin 25, Rhode Island 16
The fourth-ranked Badgers opened strong, serving seven aces in the first set and holding Rhode Island to just 10 kills. Rhody's last lead in the set was at 4-3 as a 6-0 run put Wisconsin on top for good. The Rams cut it to three at 12-9 but another 6-0 push by the Badgers effectively put things out of reach at 18-9. Six of URI's final seven points came on kills, but UW's lead was never truly threatened.

Set Two – Wisconsin 25, Rhode Island 10
The Badgers rolled through the second set and never let the Rams establish any sort of rhythm. Rhody managed back-to-back points just once – when a UW service error was followed by block assists from Mariah Paulette and Karlee Pinell to cut the Badgers' lead to 5-4. Overall for the set, the Rams had a -.036 hitting percentage as they recorded just five kills on 28 attacks with six errors. At the opposite end of the court, Wisconsin had 16 kills on 26 swings with only one attack error (.577).

Set Three – Wisconsin 25, Rhode Island 16
Wisconsin never trailed in the third set and did not give up a kill until Brynne Wright dropped one in to close the gap to 8-5. The Rams were unable to get any closer though, as the Badgers kept their foot on the gas. Emma Vente had a pair of aces for URI and Wright recorded kills for Rhody's final three points, but the Wisconsin completed the sweep with a 25-16 win.
