Rhode Island's season ended in a 3-0 sweep at Loyola Chicago Saturday, as the Rams fell 25-15, 25-12, 25-20
 
Set One – Loyola Chicago 25, Rhode Island 15
The tandem Karlie McNabb and Emily Banitt combined for 10 kills – each providing five – as Loyola Chicago hit .364 as a team in the opening set. The Ramblers converted on 68 percent of its sideout opportunities, preventing Rhode Island from getting much momentum going.
 
Set Two – Loyola Chicago 25, Rhode Island 12
In the second set, Loyola Chicago opened with a 5-1 lead and never relinquished its advantage. Rhode Island did not score consecutive points until it was down 17-6. URI managed a 3-0 spurt that included kills from Gabrielle Shilling and Madi Disu, but the lead was never threatened.

Set Three – Loyola Chicago 25, Rhode Island 20
Rhode Island was competitive in the third set, which featured nine ties and two lead changes. Karlee Pinell to lead URI in the set, but in the end Loyola had too much firepower. The Ramblers got 15 kills in the set, including five from Emily Banitt, to bring the match to an early end.

  • Freshman Madi Disu led Rhode Island with seven kills.
  • Sophomore Ryleigh Powers had a team-high 13 digs.
  • Redshirt junior Samantha Blahut finished the season with a team-high 102 sets played out of a possible 107.
