Rams Fall to Eastern Kentucky on Final Day of Bob Heck Classic

How It Happened
Rhode Island's visit to the Bob Heck Classic ended with a 10-3 loss to Eastern Kentucky as the Rams could not slow down the Colonels offense.

Eastern Kentucky (7-3) scored at least one run in every inning. The Colonels broke open a close game with seven runs combined in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings.

Rhode Island (1-4) got on the board in the top of the first inning. Hannah Hernandez walked to lead off the game and promptly stole second base. Elena Gonzalez brought her home with a single up the middle.

Eastern Kentucky (6-3) got the run back in the bottom of the inning when Lou Bowers hit a solo home run to left field. The Colonels got another solo shot in the bottom of the second from Lilly Davis to take a 2-1 lead.

Rhody tied the game in the top of the third when Becca Zawistowski drove in Gonzalez with a two-out single. However, Eastern Kentucky came right back in the bottom half with an RBI double from Bowers to take a 3-2 lead. From there, the Colonels steadily added to the lead and coasted to the win.
