HOPKINTON, N.H. – Sophomore
Garrett Hartline placed fifth out of 207 finishers to lead Rhode Island to a third-place finish at the 2024 Men's New England Cross Country Championship Friday afternoon.

Nick Martin gave the Rams two top-10 finishers in the field. Hartline ran the 8K course at Hopkinton Fairgrounds in a time of 24:32.68, while Martin's time of 24:46.84 was good for ninth overall.
Central Connecticut State dominated the team standings with 38 points. The Blue Devils had six of the top 16 finishers overall for 38 team points, finishing well ahead of second-place Providence (75 points). Rounding out the top five were Rhode Island (108), New Hampshire (138) and Vermont (150).
