KINGSTON, R.I. — After an explosive sophomore season, Rhode Island forward Lauren MacDonald earned a spot on the Atlantic 10 All-Conference Second Team, the league announced Wednesday. 

MacDonald is the first Ram to collect postseason All-Conference honors in a decade. Nicole Brennan earned a spot on the All-Conference Second Team in 2014.

In her sophomore campaign, MacDonald led the Rams with 17 points on a team-high seven goals and three assists. After being named to the All-Rookie Team her freshman year, MacDonald had a stellar second season in Kingston, leading the Rams to 7-8-3, their best record since 2014. She's making her way up the top-50 all-time scoring list, sitting at 40th with 22 career points in 37 games played.

MacDonald was named Atlantic 10 Offensive Player of the Week after assisting on a score and putting the win away with a goal in Rhody's victory at Fordham. It was URI's first win in the Bronx since 2001.

The Rams finished 4-5-1 in the Atlantic 10 this season, just missing a spot in the 2024 Atlantic 10 Tournament Championship.
