How it Happened
Early offensive struggles doomed Rhode Island as it fell at Princeton 66-54 for its fifth consecutive loss Wednesday.

The Rams (4-8) fell behind by as many as 10 points in the second quarter. Shooting just 29 percent from the field (9-for-31), URI could not maintain pace with the host Tigers (6-4). With guard Ashley Chea leading the way, Princeton led for the entire game. Chea had a game-high 18 points to go with six assists as she helped the Tigers control play from the outset.

Rhode Island made several mini runs to stay close. A strong start to the third quarter led to Rhody closing within three points on two different occasions. An Hawa Komara layup off a nice feed from Sophia Vital closed the gap to 39-36, and another Komara basket made it 41-38 moments later.

However, Princeton kept responding and keeping the Rams at bay. A Vital 3-pointer with seven minutes left in the fourth quarter pulled Rhode Island with five at 58-53. A 7-0 response by Princeton extended the lead back to 12 points and essentially sealed the outcome.
