KINGSTON, R.I. -Â The Rhode Island football team will cap off Spring Ball with the annual Blue-White Game on Saturday, April 13 at Meade Stadium.
Kick-off is set for 11 a.m., with gates opening at 10:30 a.m. There will be concessions available for sale and extra benefits for season ticket holders. The game is free and open to the public.
Rhode Island will play four 10-minute quarters with a running clock in the second half. The defense will begin the contest with a 28-point lead and the offense will have to come from behind to win. Scoring will be in the traditional form unless the offense overtakes the defense before time runs out. In that case, the scoring will switch to the following format:Â
- Offense
- Touchdown - 6 pointsÂ
- 2-Point Conversion - 2 pointsÂ
- Extra Point - 1 point
- Field Goal - 3 points
- 1st Down - 1 point
- Big Play (15+ yards) - 2 points
- Defense
- Touchdown - 7 points
- Turnover - 5 points
- Drive Stop - 2 points
- Three-And-Out - 3 points
- Field Goal Block - 3 points
- Sack/TFL - 2 points
The game will provide Rhody fans their final chance to see the team in action before the season-opener against Holy Cross on Saturday, Aug. 31.
