Rams Compete in Final Tune-Up at Brown

PROVIDENCE, R.I. — Rhode Island used the Brown Springtime Invitational as their final tune-up before the Atlantic 10 Championship next weekend.

Highlights from Competition

  • John Santos was first in the high jump, marking 6' .50".
  • Chris Tavarone finished first in the shot put after throwing a mark of 54' 1.75".
  • The Rams were also represented in the shot put by Theo Puterbaugh (51' 11.25"), Devin Donahue (46' 6.75"), CJ McDermott (45' 3.75") and Damian Scouloukas (31' 6.75"). 
  • Donahue won the javelin with a throw of 151' 3". Scouloukas placed third (126' 10").
  • Alexander Baez finished fourth in the hammer (176' 11") and Nate Field was fifth (172' 11").
  • Tavarone also claimed first in the discus after marking 156' 1". McDermott placed second (150' 5") while Puterbaugh was fifth (139' 9") and Donahue finished sixth (139' 4"). Scouloukas finished ninth (106' 8").
  • Alex Destefano finished first in the pole vault after clearing 14' 1.25".
  • Neil Waldhausen finished seventh in the 100m (12.64s).
