How it Happened
Rhode Island freshman Kaia Rice scored her first career goal in the final minutes to force a draw at Bryant Thursday.

The host Bulldogs struck first, gaining the early lead in the 22nd minute. Jordyn Collins sauntered just outside the penalty box and had a deep shot that got past keeper Abby McCarthy.

The Rams had a few more chances before the break, including a shot that was sent high by Tierra Garniss. Bryant held the lead going into the half, 1-0.

Rhode Island continued to pressure Bryant goalie Shannon Mejia, but couldn't find the back of the net. With just under four minutes remaining in the game, Kaia Rice came off the bench and provided an instant boost. The freshman scored 16 seconds after subbing in, after Sam Hagerty found Emma Kirkpatrick in the corner who kicked it swiftly back to Rice. Her first career goal provided the equalizer and was the first goal scored in the second half by the Rams this season.

Garniss nearly had the game winner once again, blasting a shot off the crossbar as the clock ran out.
