How it Happened
Despite giving up a goal for the first time this season, Rhode Island extended its unbeaten streak to seven matches with a 1-1 draw against Harvard Thursday night.
The visiting Crimson nearly got on the board just two minutes into the match when Jan Riecke got his head on a free kick, but the shot went off the crossbar. Rhode Island managed to grab the lead five minutes later when
Joan Sanchis scored on a header of his own.
Keegan Walker sent a perfect cross into the box, and Sanchis put it away for a 1-0 lead.
That's how it stayed until the 36th minute when URI's
Brett Schwab was whistled for a foul just inside the box. Schwab and Harvard's Andreas Savva got tangled up while battling for a loose ball after a deflected shot, and a penalty kick was award. Isakovic buried the shot. Keeper
Edu Rodriguez guessed correctly but could not reach the shot while diving to his left.
Neither side was able to score again despite plenty of opportunities. The sides combined for 27 total shots, but just nine combined shots on goal.
