- Rhode Island hits the road to travel to face Rutgers for the first time since 1995.Â
- Historically, the Rams are 2-28 all-time against the Scarlet Knights.Â
- The last Rhody win in the series was Jan.14, 1994 in Kingston. URI won 99-80.
- The Rams have never won against Rutgers at Jersey Mikes Arena.
- The game is the second road contest of the season for URI, and the first since opening the season with a win at Manhattan.
SCOUTING THE SCARLET KNIGHTS
- Rutgers women's basketball will welcome over 6,000 students from schools across New Jersey to Jersey Mike's Arena for its annual Recess Day. Â
- The Scarlet Knights fell to Stony Brook, 71-54, last time out.
- Nene Ndiaye (16) and Imani Lester (11) both reached double figures while Janae Walker's six rebounds paced the team off the glass. Â
DOUBLE TROUBLE
- In Rhody's season-opening win over Manhattan, sophomore Palmire Mbu and Albina Syla each recorded a double-double.
- Mbu led the Rams with 12 points and a career-high 14 rebounds — her second career double-double.
- Syla added 11 points and 10 rebounds, marking the first double-double of her career.
- The posts are led by Associate head coach Adeniyi Amadou who recruited the international student-athletes to Kingston.
- Both Mbu and Syla enter Thursday's game averaging double figures.
- Mbu leads the team with her 16.7 points per game, while Syla contributes 11.7 points per game. Both Rams have scored in double figures the last three straight games.
