How it Happened
Rhode Island (4-1) turned on the jets late, turning a one-point game into a 12-point victory as it defeated UAlbany 64-52 Saturday evening,

The visiting Great Danes made the score 40-39 on a 3-point shot by Julia Palomo with 8:51 to go in the fourth quarter. From there, Rhode Island outscored UAlbany 24-13 to record the team's fourth victory in five games.

Freshman Vanessa Harris scored seven points over the final nine minutes as URI rebounded from its first loss of the season.

UAlbany (2-2) shot 43.8 percent from the floor and .500 from 3-point range (7-14), but Rhode Island had too much balance for the Great Danes.

• Brooklyn Gray and Palmire Mbu led Rhode Island with 12 points and seven rebounds each.
• Valentina Ojeda added 10 points to give the  Rams a third double-digit scorer.
• Ines Debroise added eight points, six rebounds, four steals and three steals in another stellar performance.
• Rhode Island had a 33-23 edge in rebounds, including an 11-5 advantage in second-chance boards.
