How it Happened
Dayton (23-6, 18-0 Atlantic 10) complete a perfect conference season by sweeping Rhode Island 25-14, 25-14, 25-16 Saturday afternoon. Rhode Island (5-25, 2-16 Atlantic 10) had its season come to an end on Senior Day.
Set One - Dayton 25, Rhode Island 14
Kamryn Hunt had six kills and three service aces to help Dayton dominate the opening set. The Flyers had eight aces overall and hit .542 as a team to make quick work of the set. Rhode Island got three kills each from
Havyn Rolle and
Aerin Bowman, but the Rams could not keep up.
Set Two - Dayton 25, Rhode Island 14
The Flyers jumped out to a 10-3 lead to open the second set. The visitors never looked back, as their lead never dipped below six points.
Set Three - Dayton 25, Rhode Island 16
It was Kamryn Hunt leading the way again. She had eight kills with one error and Corrie Anderson added four kills with just one error as Dayton controlled the set from start to finish.
