RHODE ISLAND VS. PRINCETON - SERIES NOTES

  • Rhode Island is back at the Ryan Center to welcome Princeton Wednesday.
  • Historically, the Rams are 3-3 against the Tigers.
  • The teams have met in each of the last four seasons, with every matchup proving to be a tightly contested battle. They've split those games 2-2, trading wins in a series defined by close finishes.
  • The last time the Tigers visted the Ryan Center back on Dec. 3, 2023, they were nationally ranked, and Rhode Island handed them a 60-58 loss for the first upset over a ranked opponent in program history.
  • The Rams are 2-0 against Princeton at the Ryan Center.
  • A win Wednesday would be the seventh of the season, the best start for the Rams since the 2022-23 season.
  • Rhode Island is 4-0 at the Ryan Center while the Tigers are 2-1 on the road.

SCOUTING THE TIGERS

  • Princeton enters Wednesday's game winning its last three straight games.
  • Most recently, the Tigers beat Maryland Eastern Shore and Penn State to go 2-0 at the Battle4Atlantis.
  • Junior Skye Belker was named the Ivy League Player of the Week after she averaged 19.3 points and 4.3 assists per game in three wins.
  • The Tigers were voted Ivy League Preseason favorites, returning four starters from last year's NCAA Tournament team.
  • Senior Madison St. Rose was named to the 2026 Becky Hammon Mid-Major Player of the Year Watch List.

THAT JUST HAPPENED

  • Last time out, Rhode Island stunned No. 16 NC State 68-63 at Reynolds Coliseum.
  • Dating back to 2016-17, N.C. State was 137-16 in Reynolds Coliseum before Sunday.
  • The game featured 11 lead changes and 10 ties, with neither side leading by more than six points at any point.
  • Rhode Island had four players score in double digits, led by freshman Vanessa Harris for the second straight game. Harris finished with 15 points while hitting 3-of-5 from deep.
  • Senior Ines Debroise scored 13 points to go with four steals, three rebounds and two assists.
  • She was 4-for-4 at the free throw line, including the game-clinching shots.

HARRIS NAMED ATLANTIC 10 ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

  • Rhode Island freshman Vanessa Harris was named the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week, the league announced Monday.
  • Harris powered the Rams to a 2-0 week, averaging 17.0 points per game while delivering in two high-stakes matchups.
  • Harris opened the week with a career-high 19 points against Holy Cross, then followed with a team-best 15 in Rhody's 68-63 upset victory at No. 16 NC State.
  • She was efficient in both games, shooting 52 percent from the field and 62.5 percent from beyond the arc.
  • At NC State, Harris delivered several momentum-shifting plays. She drilled back-to-back 3-pointers to ignite a crucial Rhode Island run, then knocked down two late free throws to help secure the program's first win over a ranked opponent since 2022-23.
  • The honor marks the first weekly award of Harris' career.
