Rhode Island outlasted a game Maine squad, pulling away late to win 69-56 Sunday afternoon.
It was a tight game throughout, with the Rams (8-2) overcoming a season-high 19 turnovers to secure the victory. Maine (3-7) stayed within four points for the majority of the game, tying the score at 51-51 with eight minutes to go after an Adrianna Smith basket.
From that point, Rhody outscored the Black Bears 18-5.
Palmire Mbu and
Ines Debroise each had six points during the final stretch to help URI put the game away.
