KINGSTON, R.I. - Rhode Island Rowing's Varsity 8+ advanced to the Grand Final in the team's first action of the 2025 spring season at the Doc Hosea Invitational on Saturday morning.

Brigid McShea earned its way into the top final after a photo finish in the heats. Rhody knocked off Navy by .37 seconds to secure an automatic qualifying spot. In its second race, URI bested sixth-place EMU by about half a boat length.
Both the Second Varsity 8+ and Varsity 4+ finished second in their respective Petite Finals. Rhody's 2V8+ was about five seconds off of first-place Georgetown, while the Four was narrowly edged by Bucknell (4.9 seconds).
Rhode Island's Second Varsity 4+ finished third in its Petite Final.
