RHODE ISLAND AT THE ATLANTIC 10 CHAMPIONSHIPÂ
- Under head coach Tammi Reiss, Rhode Island is 4-5 at the Atlantic 10 Championship. Last year the Rams had their first real run in the conference postseason tournament. Rhody went into the Championship as the No. 6 seed and won three straight games, falling to eventual champion Richmond in the Sunday final.Â
- Reiss picked up her first win in the Atlantic 10 Championship on March 4, 2023 against George Washington (68-56). Before that, Reiss was 0-3 at A-10s.
- Rhode Island faces the winner of Game 1 Thursday: No. 12 George Washington or No. 13 Loyola.
- The Rams have never won an Atlantic 10 Tournament title. The lone league Championship was when Rhody won a share of the regular season title back in 2022-23. Â
- Rhode Island is 19-37 all-time at the conference championship. URI is 3-0 in the second round.Â
THREE RAMS COLLECT ATLANTIC 10 POSTSEASON HONORS
- For the fifth straight year, Rhode Island collected Atlantic 10 postseason honors, it was announced Tuesday by the league. The A-10 released the awards ahead of the conference championship starting Wednesday.
- Senior Harsimran "Honey" Kaur was named to the Atlantic 10 All-Conference Third Team.Â
- Junior Anaelle Dutat earned her first career postseason nod as a member of the All-Conference Defensive Team. Dutat is a two-time member of the Preseason All-Defensive Team, but this is her first time on the postseason team.Â
- For the second straight year, senior Sophie Phillips earned a spot on the All-Academic Team. She's the first Ram to be named All-Academic twice since Marcie Byrd did so in 1995 and in 1996.
REGULAR SEASON WRAPPED UP
- George Washington spoiled Rhody's season finale a game ago, handing the Rams a stunning 54-46 loss Saturday afternoon at the Ryan Center.Â
- Rhode Island heads to Virginia looking to snap a two-game slump. Saint Louis sent the Rams home with a 42-40 loss on Feb. 26.Â
SCOUTING THE COMPETITION
- Rhode Island could face either George Washington or Loyola in Thursday's game.
- Both are familiar opponents. The Revolutionaries snapped a six-game winning streak by the Rams at the Ryan Center in the final game of the regular season on March 1.
- Back on Jan. 26, Rhody beat Loyola 67-49.Â
