KINGSTON, R.I. - Rhode Island Rowing completed two rounds of racing on the opening day of action at the Lake Wheeler Invitational on Friday.
The Varsity 8+ had the strongest showing of the day, finishing fourth in both of its outings.

Ellie McGee beat Boston College and Georgetown in the morning before holding off the Hoyas and Jacksonville in their second race.
After a sixth-place finish in its opening event, the Second Varsity 8+ responded with a fourth-place performance in the afternoon.

Lily Stasaitis bested both Georgetown and Jacksonville in a tight race.
Rhody's Varsity 4+ finished sixth in round one and fifth in round two.
The second day of racing will begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday, April 26. URI's first boat in action will be the Varsity 4+ at 10:20 a.m.
