However, Aerin Bowman provided a kill, Dakota Henry got a service ace and Emma Vente drilled a kill to end the set in URI's favor. It was Vente's four kill of the set to lead the Rams.

A sustained run midway through the second set helped Stony Brook even the match. With the score tied 12-12, the Seawolves went on its first extended run, using a 6-1 run to move in front 18-13. Rhode Island never got closer than four points the rest of the way, and an Ava Zamora ace squared the sets at 1-1.

Stony Brook's attack found its groove, pounding away throughout. Kali Moore had four kills and two aces in the set to lead the way for the Seawolves. Leading 13-12, Stony Brook used an 8-0 run to build a lead Rhody could not surmount.
